Blue Lock and Its Spinoff’s Latest Covers Could Foreshadow Nagi’s Return
The release of these two Blue Lock covers are no coincidence and could be the Blue Lock team giving hope to fans

On April 30, 2025, Blue Lock revealed two new volume covers, one for the main series and the other for its spinoff, Episode Nagi.
Blue Lock Episode Nagi revealed the cover for Volume 7, showing the main character Seishiro Nagi with his skull aura on the background
This volume will cover Chapter 29: “Realize” to Chapter 32: “To You Who Will Die Someday”, with the last chapter’s title being tied to Nagi’s fate in the main series.
Meanwhile, the main series reveals the cover for Volume 34, featuring Hirotoshi Buratsuta, the chairman of the Japanese football union.
Notably, the character is featured as part of the back illustration of Volume 33, which had Julian Loki on the cover.
Although Buratsuta is disliked by the fandom, this is quite a symbolic cover as he holds coins that could represent the Top 23 players of Blue Lock, although we only see the back of the coin showing a soccer ball while the front is just the typical faces for the observe side of the coin.
There is a layer of coincidence on the two covers as the Episode Nagi volume shows Nagi’s skull aura, representing his life and death motif while the main series confirms his death in Blue Lock.
However, we see a skull-like coin in the bottom of Buratsuta’s chain, which clearly resembles Nagi himself.
Blue Lock Volume 34 will contain Chapter 295: “No. 1”, which announces the two Number One players, Yoichi Isagi and Itoshi Rin, up to Chapter 300: “Innocent”, which shows Nagi leaving Blue Lock
However, this would be short one to two chapters for the volume to be complete, meaning the next chapters will determine Nagi’s fate.
Chapter 301 Parade, which will be released on May 7, may reveal Buratsuta’s plans for the U-20 World Cup and a change to the status quo of Blue Lock, possibly inserting Nagi into the list of players.
